this was a great purchase, especially considering the price, sturdy and has survived daily trips to the dish pit and back, glossy finish hides fingerprint smudges etc, only reason to give 4 stars rather than five is design/appearance.

Not too heavy for food runners and dishwashers, but durable and stylish. Makes a great bowl for stews and dishes like gumbo, works very well for pasta, and it's a fun way to plate certain entrees if you can give the dish a little height in the center. Also doesn't take up too much room at the table, so I like them a lot better than the old school, wide rim bowls often used in the same way.
